femSense uses a sensor patch worn on your body to continuously measure your body temperature. The rise in temperature during ovulation allows femSense to determine your ovulation.

The app accompanies you during use and evaluates your temperature data individually for you using an intelligent algorithm. In the calendar, you can see an overview of your cycle data and fertility and when your next patch is due. The patch gluing day is determined based on your cycle and your period to measure your individual ovulation, so the app tells you when your fertility is at its highest and when you ovulate - the rest is up to you.

femSense is a new form of basal body temperature measurement that is based on continuous measurement and is not dependent on external influences. The femSense system consists of a skin patch with an integrated temperature measurement chip. This patch is attached to the side of the skin three fingers below the axilla and, once activated, continuously measures your body temperature over several days of your cycle

Temperature data is collected for the evaluation of ovulation, as well as data on the individual cycle, such as cycle length and period length. These are recorded in encrypted form and treated confidentially in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Furthermore, it is possible for everyone to record their cycle symptoms and data on well-being, physical symptoms, sport & activities and nutrition in order to learn more about themselves and their cycle.

Under certain medical indications, femSense cannot reliably determine ovulation. These include:

• Severe, acute or chronic illnesses
• Nicotine or alcohol abuse
• Amenorrhea
• Oligomenorrhea (menstrual bleeding that is too infrequent)
• Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
• Obesity (BMI > 30)
• Hirsutism
• Known allergy to components of skin patches
• Medications that can have an effect on body temperature as a side effect
• Hormone treatments (e.g. contraceptive pill, hormone injection, hormone coil, etc. ) can affect body temperature. Birth control pills, hormone injections, hormone IUDs, etc.) can influence body temperature and therefore affect the reliability of femSense.
