Frequently Asked Questions About the Early Pregnancy Test
When can I take an early pregnancy test?
The VILAVIT Early Pregnancy Test can be used up to 6 days before your missed period, which is 5 days before your expected period. It detects the pregnancy hormone hCG in urine from a concentration of 10 mIU/ml.
However, the earlier you test, the lower your hCG level may still be. A negative result therefore does not reliably rule out pregnancy. If your period does not start, repeat the test after 48 hours, ideally using first-morning urine.
How does an early pregnancy test work?
In the early stages of pregnancy, the body begins to produce the pregnancy hormone hCG. Its concentration rises rapidly during early pregnancy and can be detected in urine. The VILAVIT Early Pregnancy Test detects hCG from a concentration of 10 mIU/ml and displays the result with two colored lines.
What is the difference between an early pregnancy test and a regular pregnancy test?
An early pregnancy test usually has a lower detection threshold, allowing it to detect smaller amounts of the pregnancy hormone hCG. The VILAVIT Early Pregnancy Test detects hCG from a concentration of 10 mIU/ml.
Do I need to take the pregnancy test using first-morning urine?
The test can generally be taken at any time of day. However, when testing very early, first-morning urine is recommended because it is usually more concentrated and may contain a higher level of the pregnancy hormone hCG.
When should I read the pregnancy test result?
Read the test result after 3 minutes. Results that appear after more than 10 minutes should no longer be interpreted.
What does a faint second line on a pregnancy test mean?
If two colored lines appear within the specified reading time, one at C and one at T, the result is considered positive. The test line may be significantly lighter than the control line. Particularly in very early pregnancy, hCG levels may still be low, causing the second line to appear faint.
What does one line at C mean?
If only one line appears in the control region C and no line appears in the test region T, no hCG was detected. The result is negative.
If you tested very early or your period still has not started, repeat the pregnancy test after 48 hours using first-morning urine.
What does it mean if no control line appears?
If no line appears in the control region C, the pregnancy test is invalid. This also applies if a line is visible in the test region T. In this case, use a new test and repeat the procedure according to the instructions for use.
What should I do after a positive pregnancy test?
A positive result means that hCG has been detected in your urine and that you are likely pregnant. Schedule an appointment with your OB-GYN or healthcare provider to confirm the pregnancy and discuss the next steps.
From now on, it is especially important to ensure an adequate intake of essential nutrients. VILAVIT Prenatal was specifically developed to meet the unique nutritional needs of pregnancy and provides key vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids.
